INVESTIGATION OF FATHER-INFANT INTERACTION IN THE BABY LIBRARY THROUGH BOOK AND GAME

Öz

It is known that the primary caregiver from the birth of the baby is his mother and he establishes a close relationship with his mother. However, it can be stated that the baby does not only establish a relationship with the mother, and that the father has a critical importance in his development as much as the mother. The roles in the traditional family structure have changed over time, and the father has become involved in the caregiving and raising process of the baby. In this study, it is aimed to examine father-infant interaction through book and game. In the study, the observation model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used and the case study approach was adopted. The study group consisted of 13 infants aged 2-3 years registered in the baby library and their fathers. Personal Information Form and Father-Infant Affect, Responsiveness and Engagement Scale were used as data collection tools. The data were collected by video recording and converted into anecdotal records, and coding was done by using some items of the scale. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis was used. As a result, although fathers behaviors of being intrusive, directing and controlling are observed in father-infant interaction, it has been found that they have more positive emotions towards their babies, they participate sensitively in their activities and they structure their games in terms of instruction.

BEBEK KÜTÜPHANESİNDE UYGULANAN BABA-BEBEK ETKİLEŞİMİNİN KİTAP VE OYUN ARACILIĞIYLA İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bebeğin doğumundan itibaren ona birincil bakım veren kişinin annesi olduğu ve annesiyle yakın bir ilişki kurduğu bilinmektedir. Ancak bebeğin yalnızca anne ile ilişki kurmadığı, onun gelişiminde anne kadar babanın da kritik bir öneme sahip olduğu ifade edilebilir. Geleneksel aile yapısı, anne ve baba figürüne bakım verme ve ekonomik destek sağlama gibi birtakım roller yüklemiş olsa da bu roller zaman içerisinde değişmiş, bebeğin bakım verme ve yetiştirme sürecine baba da dahil olmuştur. Babaların bebekleriyle etkileşimde bulunurken daha çok fiziksel oyunları tercih ettiği bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, kitap ve oyun aracılığıyla baba-bebek etkileşiminin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden gözlem modeli kullanılmış, durum çalışması yaklaşımı benimsenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu bebek kütüphanesine kayıtlı 2-3 yaş aralığındaki 13 bebek ve babası oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Baba-Bebek Duygulanım, Yanıt Verme ve Meşguliyet Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler video kayıt ile toplanarak anekdot kaydına dönüştürülmüş, ölçeğin bazı maddelerinden yararlanılarak kodlama yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak baba-bebek etkileşiminde babaların müdahaleci, yönlendirici, kontrol edici olma davranışlarına rastlanılsa da bebeklerine karşı daha çok olumlu duygulanıma sahip oldukları, onların aktivitelerine duyarlı katılım sağladıkları ve öğretsellik bakımından oyunlarını yapılandırdıkları bulunmuştur.
